Job Location: Round Mountain - Round Mountain, CA
Salary Range: $18.00 - $21.00 Hourly

POSITION SUMMARY:

This is a part time position, 4 days a week 6 hours a day, working independently at our Round Mountain clinic. This position is responsible for the maintenance and upkeep. General knowledge in the plumbing, electrical, HVAC, carpentry, painting and custodial trades is necessary.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Other duties may be assigned which may become essential to the position.

  • Performs basic rough and finished carpentry repair of structures such as walls, doors, fences, window frames, office furniture, roofs, and shelves.
  • Performs basic electrical repair work for switches, outlets, plugs, cables, appliances, and lighting systems; reports unsafe electrical conditions.
  • Identifies and performs basic repairs of plumbing leaks or breaks; opens clogged lines and drains; replaces seals and other minor parts; maintains drinking fountains; repairs, replaces and maintains hot water heaters and other appliances .
  • Applies and prepares various surfaces for paint, enamel, lacquer, varnish, or stain; removes or paints over graffiti; repairs wall coverings.
  • Maintains grounds in clean, safe, and orderly manner including trimming, weeding, minor pest management; replaces plants as needed; cleans debris from grounds, pathways, and parking lots; maintains grounds maintenance equipment; prunes trees and shrubs.
  • Repairs various items, systems and/or components (e.g. roofs, furniture fences, concrete walk ways, air conditioning equipment, door locks, pipes, valves, fittings, clogged drains, etc.).
  • Performs small engine and other mechanical repairs.
  • Performs preventative maintenance checks and service and troubleshoots issues observed.
  • Responds to emergency situations (e.g. broken/clogged pipes/drains, faucets, gutters, sprinkler heads, fixtures, spill clean-up, etc.).
  • Transports various items (e.g. tools, equipment, supplies, etc.) for the purpose of ensuring the availability of materials required at job site.
  • Changes filters and/or belts on various ventilation units.
  • Maintains tools and/or equipment (e.g. hand and power tools, gas powered equipment, heating and ventilation equipment, etc.) to ensure the availability of equipment in safe operating condition.
  • Reports mechanical malfunctions to appropriate party for action.
  • Moves and assists in moving furniture and equipment at various facilities/sites.
  • Inspects facilities, systems and their components for the purpose of identifying necessary repairs.
  • Identifies projects requiring the services of a higher skilled crafts person.
  • Assists in obtaining quotes and arranging for services of outside vendors as directed.
  • Completes service requests and updates online work logs for specific site requirements.
  • Perform vehicle fleet maintenance and cleaning.
  • Records and maintains inventory of essential preventative maintenance and janitorial items.
  • Activates and deactivates building alarms.
  • Removes and responds to safety hazards at clinic sites.
  • Maintains clean, safe, and orderly work sites.
  • Perform assigned responsibilities, duties, and tasks according to established practices, procedures, techniques, and standards in a safe manner and with minimal supervision.
  • Must have strong time management skills and the ability to work independently.

QUALIFICATIONS:

    Education/Experience:

    High School diploma or G.E.D. and any combination of education, training, and experience which demonstrates ability to perform the duties and responsibilities as described including related work experience in one or more of the building trades. Experience working in a clinical environment is preferred.

    Certificates and Licenses:

    Current CA drivers license and insurance required.

    Language Ability:

    Must have standard level of language skills. Ability to understand written procedures, write routine documents, and speak clearly; and understand complex, multi-step written and oral instructions. Establish and maintain cooperative and effective working relationships with those contacted in the course of work assignments.

    Math Ability:

    Must have basic math skills with the ability to perform calculations using fractions, percents, and/or ratios.

    Reasoning Ability:

    Must have good reasoning skills. Ability to define problems, collect information, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret a variety of technical instructions in written or diagram form.

    Computer Skills:

    To perform this job successfully, an individual should have working knowledge of Windows operating systems; Microsoft Office Suite - Word, Excel, Outlook; Internet browsers and maintain computerized work logs and service requests.

    Equipment Skills:

    Proficient with hand and power tools, gas engine equipment, grounds keeping tools, custodial equipment, computers, printers, copiers.

    Regularly works indoors and outdoors. Moderate noise level. Occasionally work with toxic or caustic chemicals such as petroleum products, degreasers, and sprays. Occasionally exposed to risk of electrical shock, mechanical hazards, explosive hazards, burn hazards, chemical hazards. Occasionally exposed to fumes, airborne particles and biohazards. Perform physical work outside in all weather conditions and temperature extremes with exposure to potentially hazardous conditions where there is the risk of injury and/or illness.

    While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is required to stand, walk, use hands and fingers to handle or feel objects, tools, or controls; and talk or hear. Occasionally required to sit. Frequently must squat, stoop, or kneel, crawl, reach above the head and reach forward. Daily uses hand strength to grasp tools, supplies and equipment. Occasionally climbs ladders. Regularly lift and/or move up to 50 pounds individually or more than 50 pounds with assistance.
